Palace Theatre

The Historic Palace Theatre opened its doors in 1938 as a movie house on Main Street in downtown Crossville. Since that day, the theater’s story is one that could be told on the big screen!

The Palace Theatre was a place for Crossville residents to escape the cares of the world for a little while, and that role continued for 40 years on Main Street. After closing its doors in 1978, the theater fell into disrepair, and after valiant attempts by committed, forward-thinking community leaders to restore it, it was slated for the wrecking ball in late 1999.

But that wasn’t the end of the theater’s story, and after changing the mind of one council member, the theater was saved and beautifully transformed into a community auditorium and incredible, intimate venue for class acts of all genres, from music to comedy. The Palace Theatre now hosts multiple events each week, and it has come full-circle, once again offering a full movie schedule in addition to its top-notch live entertainment.

The Palace continues to be upgraded with its sound, lighting, concessions, and amenities. It features a full concessions area with multiple options from popcorn to ice cream, all at affordable prices for all budgets. With comfortable seating and ambient lighting, the auditorium is perfect for a live music concert, from rock to country to nostalgic to classical!

The stage is big enough for full bands, and the theater boasts fantastic viewing and sound from every seat, from the main floor to the balcony. The Palace also hosts company events and conventions, perfect for large presentations as well as break-out sessions. Encore Ice Cream Parlor is located in the Palace Theatre complex and offers locally-sourced ice cream! Visit during regular business hours for a delicious sweet treat!
