MAINTENANCE WORKER
LEISURE SERVICES DEPARTMENT
FULL-TIME

We are accepting online applications for the position of  Maintenance Worker with the Leisure Services Department.  This is a full-time position with a complete benefit package. Benefits include health, vision, dental and life insurance with paid holidays and paid personal leave.

This employee will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the City’s parks which include: Centennial Park, Duer Soccer Complex and Garrison Park with splash pad.  

The regular schedule for this position will be: Tuesday – Saturday 3:30PM to 12:00AM.  After daylight savings the hourly schedule changes to 9:30AM to 6:00PM.                                                                  

Annual salary begins at $32,864/$15.80 per hour.  Employees can be eligible for a 5% salary increase at the end of 6 months.

MAINTENANCE WORKER
UTILITY MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT
FULL-TIME

We are accepting online applications for the position of  Maintenance Worker with the Utility Maintenance Department.  This is a full-time position with a complete benefit package. Benefits include health, vision, dental and life insurance with paid holidays and paid personal leave.

This employee will be responsible for maintenance, repair and installation of City water and sewer lines.

The regular schedule for this position will be: Monday-Thursday, 6AM-4:30PM                                                                     

Annual salary begins at $37,960/$18.25 per hour.  Employees can be eligible for a 5% salary increase at the end of 6 months.

FIREFIGHTER - CROSSVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT
FULL-TIME

We are accepting online applications for Firefighters.  These positions are full-time positions, with complete benefit package.  Benefits include health, vision, dental, life insurance, retirement, paid holidays and paid personal leave.

The City offers TCRS’s (Tennessee Consolidated Retirement) Hybrid plan as their retirement benefit.

Firefighter positions have a base starting salary range depending on certifications:

          *Non-certified Firefighter (trainee) —– $36,233.60

          *Firefighter I or II —– Certified hired at $39,757.12 with 5% salary increase after 6 months ($41,849.60)

          *Firefighter AEMT —– Certified hired at $45,922.24 with 5% salary increase after 6 months ($48,339.20)

          *Firefighter Paramedic —– Certified hired at $50,625.12 with 5% salary increase after 6 months ($53,289.60)

Salary adjustments are made when employees complete their probationary period and certification requirements.  Please refer to job description for department functions.

Candidates must possess a valid TN Drivers’ License and will be required to complete, and pass, a department conducted physical agility test, medical physical and drug screen.  Applications and resumes will be accepted until position is filled.




POLICE OFFICER - CROSSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

FULL-TIME

Qualified candidates will be required to pass a preliminary background check and complete an interview process before a panel of police officers.  Candidates will be contacted individually for information to complete the preliminary background check. 

The Police Officer position will start at an annual salary of $36,233.60 for a non-certified police officer (trainee). 

A POST certified police officer will start at an annual salary of $45,922.24 with a 5% salary increase at the conclusion of 6 months ($48,339.20). 

The job of Police Officer is a full-time position that includes a full benefits package.  Benefits include health, vision, dental, life insurance, retirement, paid holidays and paid personal leave.

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Be a high school graduate or possess a GED.  No waivers will be granted for minimum education requirements.
  • Never been convicted of, pled guilty to, or entered a plea of Nolo Contendere to any felony charge or to any violation of Federal or State laws or City ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor or controlled substance.
  • Never been released or discharged under any other than honorable discharge from any of the armed forces of the United States.
  • Have his/her fingerprints on file with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
  • Pass a post-employment offer physical and drug screen by a physician chosen by the City of Crossville.
  • Be free of all apparent mental disorders as described in the Diagnostic and Statistical manual of Mental Disorders, Third Edition (DSM-II) of the American Psychiatric Association.
  • Pass a psychological exam by a psychiatrist or psychologist appointed by the City of Crossville.
  • If applicant is not certified, they must be able to attend and complete the Basic Police Academy.
