MAINTENANCE WORKER- MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT
FULL-TIME

We are accepting online applications for a Maintenance Worker with our Public Works Maintenance Department.  This is a full-time position, with complete benefit package.  Benefits include health, vision, dental, life insurance, retirement, paid holidays and paid personal leave.  Starting hourly rate is 16.55/hour, $34,424/annually with a 5% increase after 6 months. This position is responsible for maintaining the grounds, mowing and weed eating City owned facilities.  Experience in building and grounds maintenance is preferred.  This position will work a regular schedule of Monday-Thursday, 6:00AM to 4:30PM.  Candidates must possess a valid TN Drivers’ License and will be required to complete, and pass, a physical and drug screen.  Applications will be accepted until position is filled.

 





FIREFIGHTER - CROSSVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT
FULL-TIME

We are accepting online applications for Firefighters.  These positions are full-time positions, with complete benefit package.  Benefits include health, vision, dental, life insurance, retirement, paid holidays and paid personal leave. 

Firefighter positions have a base salary range depending on certifications:

          *Non-certified Firefighter (trainee) —– $32,864

          *Firefighter I or II —– $36,062

          *Firefighter AEMT —– $41,654

          *Firefighter Paramedic —– $45,923

Salary adjustments are made when employees complete their probationary period and certification requirements.  Please refer to job description for department functions.

 

Candidates must possess a valid TN Drivers’ License and will be required to complete, and pass, a department conducted physical agility test, medical physical and drug screen.  Applications and resumes will be accepted until position is filled.

 




POLICE OFFICER - CROSSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
FULL-TIME

Qualified candidates will be required to pass a preliminary background check and complete an interview process before a panel of police officers.  Candidates will be contacted individually for information to complete the preliminary background check. 

The Police Officer position will start at an annual salary of $32,864 for a non-certified police officer (trainee). 

A POST certified police officer will start at an annual salary of $41,654, with a 5% salary increase at the conclusion of 6 months. 

The job of Police Officer is a full-time position that includes a full benefits package.  Benefits include health, vision, dental, life insurance, retirement, paid holidays and paid personal leave.

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Be a high school graduate or possess a GED.  No waivers will be granted for minimum education requirements.
  • Never been convicted of, pled guilty to, or entered a plea of Nolo Contendere to any felony charge or to any violation of Federal or State laws or City ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor or controlled substance.
  • Never been released or discharged under any other than honorable discharge from any of the armed forces of the United States.
  • Have his/her fingerprints on file with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
  • Pass a post-employment offer physical and drug screen by a physician chosen by the City of Crossville.
  • Be free of all apparent mental disorders as described in the Diagnostic and Statistical maual of Mental Disorders, Third Edition (DSM-II) of the American Psychiatric Association.
  • Pass a psychological exam by a psychiatrist or psychologist appointed by the City of Crossville.
  • If applicant is not certified, they must be able to attend and complete the Basic Police Academy.
