We are accepting online applications for the position(s) of SEASONAL Maintenance Workers with our Leisure Services Department.  These seasonal positions will be responsible for assisting with general maintenance of grounds and events at City owned park facilities.  These facilities include: Centennial Park, Garrison Splash Pad, Duer Soccer Complex and Meadow Park Lake.  Evenings, nights, weekends and some holidays will be required.

Our seasonal positions are good opportunities for temporary employment on weekends, evenings and during summer breaks.  Seasonal employment does not exceed 7 months.  Hourly rate of pay is $12.00.

MAINTENANCE WORKER

MECHANIC - MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT
FULL-TIME

WATER PLANT OPERATOR-WATER RESOURCES
FULL-TIME

We are accepting online applications and resumes for the position of a Water Plant Operator with our Water Resources Department. This individual is responsible for monitoring water flow, tank levels, filters and refilling chemical tanks.

The normal schedule for this position is MONDAY-WEDNESDAY 4:00PM-12:00AM, THURSDAY-FRIDAY 3:00PM-12:00AM.

Annual salary begins at $37,960 for a non-certified operator.  A 5% salary increase is given at the conclusion of a satisfactory 6 months.  Employee must be able to pass Tennessee Grade III Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification within 3 years of date of hire.

PALACE THEATRE/CROSSVILLE DEPOT - LEISURE SERVICES
PART-TIME

We are accepting online applications for the position of a PART-TIME Operations Assistant at our Palace Theatre/Crossville Depot.  This is a PART-TIME position that will not exceed 28-30 hours per week.  Evenings and weekends will be required.  Schedule is dependent upon event schedule for the Palace and Depot. 

This position will assist with ticket sales, event set up and break down, concessions and retail at our historic Palace Theatre and Crossville Depot.

FIREFIGHTER - CROSSVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT

The City offers TCRS’s (Tennessee Consolidated Retirement) Hybrid plan as their retirement benefit.

Firefighter positions have a base starting salary range depending on certifications:

          *Non-certified Firefighter (trainee) —– $34,507.20

          *Firefighter I or II —– $37,860.16

          *Firefighter AEMT —– $43,728.88

          *Firefighter Paramedic —– $48,214.40

Salary adjustments are made when employees complete their probationary period and certification requirements.  Please refer to job description for department functions.

Candidates must possess a valid TN Drivers’ License and will be required to complete, and pass, a department conducted physical agility test, medical physical and drug screen.  Applications and resumes will be accepted until position is filled.




POLICE OFFICER - CROSSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

FULL-TIME

Qualified candidates will be required to pass a preliminary background check and complete an interview process before a panel of police officers.  Candidates will be contacted individually for information to complete the preliminary background check. 

The Police Officer position will start at an annual salary of $34,507.00 for a non-certified police officer (trainee). 

A POST certified police officer will start at an annual salary of $43,728.88, with a 5% salary increase at the conclusion of 6 months. 

The job of Police Officer is a full-time position that includes a full benefits package.  Benefits include health, vision, dental, life insurance, retirement, paid holidays and paid personal leave.

The City offers TCRS’s (Tennessee Consolidated Retirement) Hybrid plan as the retirement benefit. 

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Be a high school graduate or possess a GED.  No waivers will be granted for minimum education requirements.
  • Never been convicted of, pled guilty to, or entered a plea of Nolo Contendere to any felony charge or to any violation of Federal or State laws or City ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor or controlled substance.
  • Never been released or discharged under any other than honorable discharge from any of the armed forces of the United States.
  • Have his/her fingerprints on file with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
  • Pass a post-employment offer physical and drug screen by a physician chosen by the City of Crossville.
  • Be free of all apparent mental disorders as described in the Diagnostic and Statistical maual of Mental Disorders, Third Edition (DSM-II) of the American Psychiatric Association.
  • Pass a psychological exam by a psychiatrist or psychologist appointed by the City of Crossville.
  • If applicant is not certified, they must be able to attend and complete the Basic Police Academy.
