Free Tree Pruning Classes Offered

The City of Crossville’s Urban Forester Seth Harrison, in conjunction with UT Gardens, will be conducting two free tree pruning classes. Class will be held on Tuesday, February 6, and Wednesday, February 28, from 9 a.m. until noon at UT Gardens, 320 Experiment Station Road. In the three-hour class, participants will begin indoors with an overview of basic tree identification, tree selection, tree planting techniques, tree care, and an introduction to arborists’ tools and equipment. Class will then move outdoors to learn and practice proper cuts and safety considerations. Classes will be conducted regardless of the weather, and participants should dress accordingly and bring work gloves for the class. Class size is limited.
